Starting in the fire service 33 years ago, Chief Schuldt has spent 27 years of that time as a full-time career member with the City of Kankakee Fire Department. He worked his way up through the ranks and was appointed Interim Chief on May 4th, 2017 and Chief on Aug. 21st, 2017. Chief Schuldt obtained a Master’s Degree from Southern Illinois University, is still a licensed Paramedic and holds numerous fire service educational certifications including Chief Fire Officer from the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshall. He is also involved in many organizations and neighborhoods groups including being on the Board of Directors of KCCASA-ISAS, serving Kankakee and Iroquois Counties.
Kankakee is a great place to be a part of. I have enjoyed my time here and being a member of the Fire Service was one of the best decisions I have made.
