The primary responsibility of the budget committee is to review, approve, and recommend to the full City Council, a general operating fund budget every year.  To accomplish this, the Committee in close operation with the Mayor and Comptroller, reviews in its monthly meeting all city income and expenses and identifies any changes from the approved budget.  The Budget Committee also monitors major economic changes throughout the year that impact the City's financial position and helps to formulate the appropriate responsive policy.
